Seeding the Black Hills for over 35 years​

 

Black Hills Hydro Turf  was established by Craig Knock in the mid 1980's. Because of his background in engineering Craig was fascinated with the science of plant biology, soil fertility and composting. He applied what he learned to his work and offered the best quality product in the area. Throughout his career Craig completed numerous seeding projects from residential lawns to athletic fields and mine reclamation as well as many residential and commercial landscape jobs.

Tragically, Craig passed away in December of 2009. The business was then purchased by Ted and Claire Jones.

Ted began working for Black Hills Hydro Turf while in high school in 1997. He worked for the company through high school and college at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college he worked with Craig until the time of his death. During those 13 years Ted learned the importance of and how to deliver a high quality product. With his 24 years of experience Ted is among the most knowledgeable in the landscaping/seeding industry in the area. Ted continues to educate himself and his staff to improve the quality of their products.
